Masters in Agriculture with specialization in Agronomy from JNKVV, Campus Indore, Arun R Joshi has over 24 years experience in Rural Development, which includes rural marketing, agriculture research, participatory watershed development and farming system research and development. He has been associated with bilateral funded projects and has done several consultancy assignments for GOs, NGOs and International donor agencies. He has authored over 21 research papers published in international and national journals, contributed to several books on NRM.

He is widely traveled across continents, has wide exposure to issues related to seeds and has undertaken several studies on seed related issues, formulated projects, managed and evaluated many of them as independent expert. He has been a member on national expert committee of ICAR on farmer participation in agriculture research, member of project steering committee of IDRC initiative on bio-diversity for over 2 years.

Mr Yash Kanungo

 

Mr. Yash Kanungo had long working association with GVT. In early Nineties, he started his professional carrier with M.P. Government and National Dairy Development promoted, Farmers organization of Oilseeds Growers to motivate farmers to evolve and form their co-operatives with an objective to make farmers aware about the things happening in and around, net work with the market and to provide reasonable price for their produce During this tenure of about 18 years he had the opportunity to work in rural areas of Indore, Dhar, Ujjain, Shajapur, Mandsaur and Chhindwada with different capacities from Assistant Manager to District manager and successfully managed a team of professionals including field team ,finance and HRD.

Since 1999,he associated with GRAMIN VIKAS TRUST and contributed in savings and credits initiatives through self help groups (SHGs) of tribal communities of Jhabua, Dhar and Ratlam Districts.He was also involved in GVTs project implementation through village para-professional (Jankars) introducing role transfer concept to ensure sustainability of development programmes.Mr.Kanungo had played a key role in design and develop initial strategy of GVTs innovative Migrant labour support programe in 2002 and coordinated a pilot project on MLSP in whole project with DFID support The migrant labor support program was one of the unique innovation, he spearheaded in the most challenging situation which brought him experience in urban development and developed a flare for urban development issues. He also Co-ordinate a team of professionals for implementation of a small projects of awareness and capacity building of Rural Road construction worker funded by Asian Development Bank and “Base Line and Impact Assessment Study” for Migrant Labour Support Programme in project area facilitated by Catalyst Management Services (CMS) Bangalore ,

Presently he is Faculty of Skill Building at National Livelihood resources Institute (NLRI) and is involved in developing strategies to equip the youth with many skills including those that are very critical to urban areas. We Strongly believed that transformation of unskilled poor into skilled workers through skill up gradation would be most significant intervention. GVT has developed its competencies in being able to provide such skill development trainings.

He has a wider range of trainings and exposure on various livelihood issues like , management development program with Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA)I, IMA, Ahemdabad ,Insignia solutions private limited New Delhi , “management using the logical frame work” by PAUL SHAPIRO ASSOCIATES, Washington – USA, training programme on Development Planning and Management , organized by International Management Association (IMA) at Institute of Development Studies (IDS) University of Sussex Brighton UNITED KINGDOM,GTZ Summer School’ sustainable innovations in India 2009


He is also a Co –Author for paper presented at Regional Group Seminar, University of Bath U.K. on 3rd July 03’ On ‘Agriculture or Livelihoods. Experiences of practitioners and beneficiaries of the DFID-funded Western India Rainfed Farming Project’s.

Mr YOGESH GUPTA has basic qualification in Post Graduation in Agricultural Engineering along with twelve years of experience working on Community Managed Rural Development Programmes such as Sustainable Livelihood Enhancement, Community-Based Integrated Watershed Management & Water Resource Development Programme.


He is working as a Faculty “Climate Change and Watershed Development” in the National Livelihood Resource Institute (NLRI). He is also leading Carbon Centre at NLRI. The main aim of this centre is to find out appropriate solutions that can address the demands of the grass root level in a sustainable manner focussing on vulnerability arising from climate change and developing strategies for adaptation, assessment, dissemination technology packages and processes at micro watershed level.
He has expertise in carried out Mid Term and Final evaluation, Impact studies , Diagnostic studies and feasibility reports in both farm and non farm sector base livelihood projects through using community based participatory approach. He is proficient in designing & Implementation of Soil and Water conservation measures (SWC) & Water Harvesting structures & Community Lift irrigation schemes in rivers (Water Resource development) through participatory planning, designing and processes. He has also providing the services as a trainer/resource person in seminars/conferences/trainings at National/State/District level. He was also involved and nominated as a state team member in the National study conduced in the field of watershed management.


Mr Gupta has started his career in 1997 in development sector as a professional. He has worked with IFFDC (Indian Farm Forestry Development Cooperative Ltd – an organization developed by IFFCO) for four years and managed NRM base livelihood enhancement project supported by DFID for tribal poor in Pratapgarh district of Rajasthan. Here he has awarded for two times by his good work in NRM sector by the district administration. He designed and implemented many structures in the Mahi River basin area and also formed WUAs for irrigation management of structures. He has also worked with ARAVALI (Association for Rural Advancement through Voluntary Action and Local Involvement), Jaipur, Rajasthan for three years. ARAVALI, which is a State level organization initiated by Government of Rajasthan and a leading Voluntary Organization in Rajasthan. Here he has involved in process of capacity building of small organization, documentation of best practices of livelihood enhancement and to develop process of enabling environment for policy influencing. Here he managed and coordinated many projects at state level in field of watershed development. Beside this he has also worked with CIDA, Kota and lead the Arpan Seva Sansthan as a Programme Director.


Mr Gupta is a member of Institution of Engineers and Indian Society of Agricultural Engineering. He has designed many low cost technology structures for recharging technology and assured irrigation purpose. He is in the panel of Government of India for evaluation of Watershed Development Programme. He has also worked with International agencies for evaluation and review of bilateral projects.


Presently, he is leading the "Carbon Center" at NLRI.
The main aim of the center is to find appropriate solutions that can address the demands of the grass root level farmers in accordance to the requirement at the global level in a sustainable manner focusing on vulnerability arising from climate change and developing strategies for adaptation, assessment, dissemination technology packages and processes at micro-watershed level.

Mr. Shaktivishal Yadav

 

Shaktivishal Yadav - A Post graduate in Social Sciences with specialization in Human Capital Building from Indore School of Social Work in 1996 and has acquired Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management (Management Sciences, Chenai). He has over 11 years of experience in human skills development and management in wide ranging sector like steel industries, service industry and social development.
 

In due course of time, sundry theoretical skills are sharpened with realistic and sensible experience of field and determined implementation to get the desired results. Being a Faculty on Human Capital Building involved in training and orienting the different levels of participants on general management, skills sharpening and refining and entrepreneurship development. As a senior member of organization supplementary responsibility has been given to develop and uphold the estate of 25 acres of land, organizing events, public relations and liaison. He is steering the rural entrepreneurship initiative launched by the Institute.

Mr Dharmendra Tripati

Doctorate in Forestry from Kumaun University, Nainital, Uttaranchal, has more than 10 years of experience in research and development, which includes non timber forest produce, forestry, agroforestry research, participatory watershed development programme and different agroforestry models and natural resource based livelihood related issues. He has authored over 12 research papers published in esteemed international and national journals and also contributed to a book as Hindi translator on Management and Utilization of Prosopis juliflora.

Prior to joining at NLRI, he worked with Seva Mandir a grass root level organization working on rural development related issues in southern Rajasthan as a Development Professional in natural resource management unit for four years (August'2004 to July'2008) and contributed to different natural resource based livelihood enhancement programmes for poor peasants especially focusing on community based integrated watershed, afforestation on common land and private pool land, silvipasture, horticulture, organic farming and livestock development.

He also associated with other institutes such as Central Arid Zone Research Institute(CAZRI), Jodhpur, Rajasthan as senior research fellow, Indira Gandhi Agriculture University, Raipur (C.G.) as junior research fellow and Xavier Institute of Development Action and Studies, Jabalpur(M.P) and contributed on different forestry, agroforestry and horticulture related R & D programmes.

Masters in Agriculture with specialization in Agronomy from Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidhyalaya, campus Gwalior. He has more than 18 years of experience in Rural Development, which include Rural marketing, Participatory Varietal selection and promotion and Participatory Plant Breeding, Participatory Watershed development, farming system research & development and Cattle Breed Improvement.


Mr. Praveen Ghotkar started his carrier in 1992 as a professional with Soybean Processors Association of India SOPA – and organization developed by the soybean processors of India for promotion of Soybean cultivation in India. Later on he joined KRIBHOC Indo-British Rainfed Farming Project (a bilateral international project) on Participatory Approaches to Farming system development in Western part of India , Western India Rainfed Farming Project.


He also associated with Cattle Breeding Improvement project implemented by the J.K. Trust Gram Vikas Yojana, an NGO promoted by the Raymonds India in the Chhattisgarh Madhya Pradesh and Gujrat.
Beside this he has done several consultancy assignments for Gos NGos and corporate sector like Jindal South West Energy Limited and Chambal fertilizers Limited.
He widely traveled across continents especially at London, Bangor (North Wales),Swansea (South Wales)UK , Nepal, has wide exposure and training to issue related to Participatory Crop Improvement , Participatory Rural Development and Gender.
